There are a lot of symbols that represent the USA- its pride and value. Here are some of the most popular ones:
THE FLAG
The American flag consists of (składa się) 13 stripes (paski)- they represent 13 British original colonies that declared (ogłosiły) independence from the UK and became first states in the Union. and fifty stars (gwiazdy)- they represent 50 states.
THE NATIONAL FLOWER
The rose is the national flower since 1986 when President Roland Reagen proclaimed (ogłosił) it as National Floral Emblem (symbol) of the USA.

The national tree of the USA is oak tree (dąb) since 2004.
THE NATIONAL BIRD
The national bird is bald eagle (orzeł) which is a magnificent bird of prey (ptak drapieżny) and is native (ojczysty) to North America. It's the national symbol simce 1782.
THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
'The Star-Spangled Banner' is the national anthem (hymn) of the USA since 1931. The lyrics of the anthem are taken from a poem which was written by Francis Scott Key.
THE NATIONAL MOTTO
It's a national motto since 1951 when it was signed by President Eisenhower.
THE GREAT SEAL OF THE USA
The Great Seal of the USA (pieczęć) is used for different documents in America.
THE STATUE OF LIBERTY
The Statue of Liberty was presented to the USA by France in 1886 in gesture of friendship. It stands in New York Harbour (port) at Liberty Island (wyspa) as a welcome to all visitors.
MOUNT RUSHMORE
Mount Rushmore is a national memorial (pomnik pamiątkowy). You can find this sculpture (rzeźba) near Keystone in South Dakota. It shows the heads of former (uprzedni, były) US presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosvelt and Abraham Lincoln.
UNCLE SAM
Uncle Sam is a national personification of the USA. It's an elderly man with white hair, wearing clothes which contain (zawierać) elements of the USA flag.
